A Southern magnolia blooms outside of Jones Hall on the Tulane University uptown campus. Magnolias generally bloom in May and June making the milky white flowers and the sweet smell harbingers of summer wherever the trees grow. Photo was used for the May 24, 2016, New Wave In Focus, "Sugar magnolia."
